On Saturday we celebrated Mia’s found day (she’s adopted) and her “24th birthday” with a big party at Bal-Mar in Ballard. It also marked the first time that Mia’s been out socially since she started her diet on New Year’s Day. Lots of good friends showed up. Lots of food and drink was consumed. Lots of good times were had by all. More pics are available in my Flickr photostream.
Also, if you ever need a large-ish space for a party, I highly recommend the Halvorson Room at Bal-Mar. It’s essentially the back area of the upper floor, but it has plenty of seating and tables and no through-traffic. Restrooms are right there, as well, so you don’t have to trek through crowds to get there. As an added bonus, happy hour is available on Saturdays from 5-7 PM, so if you start early, you can get some great appetizers and drinks for much cheaper.
