This week has been a particularly good Explore week for me. Four of my images made it into the Interestingness archives, one of which is the shot I got of Brittney from earlier this week. That one is still in the top 20 for the day I uploaded it and is now one of my most popular images.
The other big one is the image featured above, which is on its way to become my most popular image. As of this writing, it has over 1500 views, 107 favorites, 70+ comments (a couple are my own), and is currently sitting at #3 on Interestingess for the day. It’s only been online for just over 24 hours, so those numbers are freakin’ insane for me.
Despite those impressive numbers, I’m certain that the it will drop out of Explore soon enough. I’m guessing some photo of a cute little puppy will usurp me. That or a pretty sunset. :P
As a side note, jumping up and down near the edge of a rickety dock is a bit nerve-wracking, even more so with my back towards the water. I just wanted to make sure nothing else but the scenery was in the background of my shot. :)

First of all, I am totally digging the gorgeous weather we’ve had these past few days. Sunny and mostly clear skies. Clean fresh air. Sure, it’s still freakin’ cold, but it feels good to have the sun shine on me. The clear skies also make for some nice sunsets in the evenings. :)
Secondly…
I completed one month of 365 Days! Woo-hoo!!!
I wasn’t sure if I’d have the motivation to keep it going everyday, but, thanks to all the positive responses on my photos, I feel like this is a worthwhile project to continue. I’m also constantly amazed and inspired by all the great self-portraits in the 365 Days pool. There’s so much creativity there, and all I want to do is copy everything I see. Of course, I’m trying to be as creative as I can on my own, but a little bit of inspiration never hurts. ;)
The thing I’ve found very interesting about this project is that I really don’t have to think too much about taking a self-portrait everyday. I always have a camera with me, so all I have to do is point it at myself or some part of me and snap a photo. In fact, taking a self-portrait has become a daily routine for me. I treat it like I would brushing my teeth, checking my email, and eating. It’s just something I do everyday.
Now that I’ve made this a habit for one month, it’s time to keep it going for 11 more months. Flickr became a daily routine for me a year ago, I don’t see why this can’t be any different. :)
