shooting while driving

wednesday sunset from 520

Sometimes I can’t help but do stupid things like taking pictures while driving across the 520 bridge at 60 mph (marked speed limit is 50 mph, for those not in the area). There was a great sunset happening, and I wasn’t near a good stopping point for “proper” shooting. So, out comes my Fujifilm Finepix F30 (awesome compact camera, btw) and a-snapping I go.

Surprisingly, I ended up getting a really nice shot of the sunset and the evening traffic across the bridge. One of the best things about driving west across 520 during the summer is the great view of the lake and the Olympics. When there’s a nice sunset, everything looks really gorgeous.

Still, it wasn’t the safest thing to do. I’m just thankful traffic was light and no cops were around. :)

Nice shot Danny. I love it when you take a shot like this with absolutely no prep time, just stick the camera out the window and release the shutter, and it turns out fantastic. I did the same thing on the Road to Hana in Maui a few months back (no way in hell I was stopping on that death trap of a road) and I got what I wanted to showcase the vista that I was seeing.
