I’ve been happier in the past few days than I have been in a long time. I’ve spent some quality time with friends. I went to Portland to hang out with my family for a couple of days. I’m taking photos of things that I enjoy shooting. And the sun is out!

There are two events that do stand out as the most smile-worthy things for me.
1) Today is my 33rd birthday. I’ve been stuck in the office all day, but I will be heading out to have a fun and relaxing night with my friends later.
And 2) My sister got engaged last night (that’s her in the picture above)! Congrats!
Needless to say, I am happy today. :)
Happy birthday, Danny! It’s wonderful to see that you had such a great day. And, to top it all off, well look at that, Nikon just announced the D700. What more could you ask for?
If I’m lucky maybe Canon will announce their competitor to the D300 by the time my b-day rolls around! :-)
Danny, it is wonderful to hear that you are happy again. It was so unsettling to watch you go through your “dark” times. It’s not that I know you that well at all but your photos and your writing is so expressive it just comes across really strongly. Here’s to happy days!
@JJ - Thanks! I’m totally drooling over the new D700, but, alas, it is far beyond my budget for the time-being. Maybe in a year or if I can land a great photo gig. ;)
@Syd, - It does feel good to be happy again. The photos and writing were therapeutic and definitely more for my benefit than anyone else’s. I’m just glad things are on the upturn, because all that dark time was not good for me.
