Here are a couple of images that I took in my apartment building as I was leaving for work on Thursday morning. I’d been wanting to go on a photostroll all week, but I really didn’t know what I wanted to shoot and the weather hasn’t been so great. Luckily, Thursday was Utata Thursday Walk 100, and I figured I’d just pick up my camera and take a few pics as I walked down the stairs from my apartment to the parking garage.
I didn’t have any particular plan of attack for the 5-10 minutes that I ended up shooting for. I just put my 50/1.4 on my D300, opened the lens up all the way to f/1.4, and snapped away. Good light and interesting lines presented themselves to me, so I took those shots. I do find it interesting that my two favorites shots from the morning ended up having strong diagonal lines from bottom left to upper right. I guess once I get into a groove, I stick with it.
