Last Thursday night was the monthly Seattle Flickrites Brews and Views Meetup. We invaded The Garage in Capitol Hill for a bit of drinking and billiards fun. As usual, it was an absolute rockin’ good time at the meetup. We had a bunch of new people show up, and everyone really got into this month’s contest theme of “Diptych”. I elected not to worry too much about shooting photos for the contest (there were enough people running around taking photos) and, instead, had fun playing pool, drinking, and occasionally snapping some shots with my Fisheye camera. I actually didn’t bust out my D70 until nearly the end of the evening. So, I didn’t get a ton of shots, but what I did shoot turned out pretty cool. You can see the few shots I took in my Flickr photostream.

Over the weekend, I went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival with a bunch of friends to check out the tulips before they completely disappeared and, of course, to take some fun photos. We left Bellevue at 7 AM to beat the weekend rush, and it turned out to be a good thing. We had the entire morning to traipse around the fields doing all sorts of stupid photography stunts (running through the tulip rows, jumping up and down madly, etc.) and managed to get out of there just as the afternoon rush started arriving. The weather was overcast the whole time, but at least it was dry.
I’ve got a bunch of shots in my Flickr photostream right now, and a few more will arrive later tonight. My buddy Scott got a bunch of cool shots, too. More to come soon.
We had a ping-pong tournament versus the guys from Penny Arcade on Thursday evening. They came, we played, we kicked ass. Fun times were had by all.
Check out the photos in my Flickr photostream.
Tuesday, April 17, was Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s. It was also a gorgeous sunny day. Normally, a bunch of us from work go every year, but everyone was too busy this time around. Good thing the event ran until 8 PM. I swung by Ben and Jerry’s after work, got my free scoop of coffee ice cream (I can’t remember the exact complicated name), and then went for a walk along the lake. It was a bit on the cool side (mid-50’s), but at least the sun was out. Not a bad way to wind down after work.
