Thanksgiving isn’t even out of my mind yet, and the winter/Christmas season begins. Everyone went wacko with the first of the Christmas shopping sales. The holiday decorations and music are already flooding my senses full force. And the weather suddenly got very cold. What happened to autumn?
Sitting in a cubicle all day definitely contributes to me losing touch with what life is like outside of an office building. So, I was very glad to have a long weekend in which I could actually get outside and get some fresh air. Although it was incredibly cold, the skies were clear and the sun was shining this weekend. Knowing full well that this relatively nice weather wouldn’t last, I put on some warm clothes, packed a couple of cameras with me, and went on a nice, relaxing Saturday afternoon walk around my part of Bellevue.
I started off with a few laps around Downtown Park, one of my favorite strolling spots. There weren’t many people walking there – they were probably keeping warm inside Bellevue Square doing their Christmas shopping. I did meet a couple of friendly and playful dogs. After a quick coffee break to warm up my hands, I walked around Wilburton Park and other areas surrounding my apartment complex. The fall time colors were still in full swing, so I was able to capture some vibrant photos.
Once the sun went down, the temperature plummeted to a point where it was quite uncomfortable being outside. It’s still not as cold as it’s going to get in a couple of weeks, but it’s definitely getting there. I just need a few more days to get used to it. I’m just glad that I was able to fit in one photo walk this weekend.
The full set of images from my walk can be viewed in my Flickr photostream.
