So, today is a rather sucky day in the land of the Monkey Zombie. Mei returned to Taipei, Taiwan, early this morning, and I’ve been in a sour mood ever since. I won’t dwell on the specifics of why she went back (lack of a job stateside, major family pressure, etc.), but once again I am back to living the bachelor life-style. Our cat Sheena is staying, so at least I won’t be completely alone here. Still, things are definitely going to be much quieter around here without Mei to liven up my day.
Even though we’re living on opposite sides of the Pacific Ocean, we are still together and doing the whole long-distance thing. The way I see it, she’s away for work / school / extended-vacation / what-have-you. She’s planning on coming back eventually. We just don’t know exactly when.
So, for the time-being, we’ll stay in touch via the wealth of communications methods available to us (email, MSN Messenger, Skype, cell phone, smoke signals) and try to visit one another in person whenever we can (tentatively planning on having her back for my 30th birthday in June). The 15-hour time difference will make coordinating chats very interesting, but we’ve done it before. We’re old pros at this.

Oh no!
I’m so sorry:-(
But distance makes the heart grow fonder. You’ll make it - she will come back!
Hope your day will be better:-)
Elin,
Thanks for the kind words. We’ve gone through the long-distance thing before, and we survived. I’m confident that we’ll make it through this round as well. :)
