Yesterday, Mei finally made it back from Taiwan. I missed having her around for Christmas, but I’m happy that she’s home now. Since her flight arrived in the middle of the afternoon, I decided to take the day off from the office and work from home instead.

After nearly a month and half of on-and-off game time, I finally finished Half-Life 2 tonight. I must say that I really enjoyed the game. Everything was well-designed and well-executed. Difficulty was about right (for me, at least). And the weapons were so much fun to use. I really really REALLY like the gravity gun, especially during the last couple of levels. It is so much fun to launch bodies, consoles, and just about anything else around you through the air. Too bad you can’t throw bodies in the rest of the game.
It’s the Monday after Christmas weekend, and I’m now back in my office at Microsoft. Four days off was pretty nice, even though much of it was spent driving in the Portland metro area. Regardless, spending time with my family was a blast. There was much food and merriment and, of course, presents.
